OverviewThe Osteoporosis Program at Corso has been designed to provide the patient with a multi-level approach to the successful management of osteoporosis symptoms. By offering a combination of information, education and training, in conjunction with physical therapy, improved and sustained benefits can be achieved. Where other programs end, the Osteoporosis Program at Corso begins. Starting with an initial evaluation by one of our licensed Physical Therapists, you will see our commitment to your health and well being. This evaluation creates the necessary baseline from which future treatments and education will be determined. Naturally, as physical therapy progresses, continual re-evaluation will be used to re-assess and modify (if necessary) the treatment plan. Modalities are utilized to help the patient with pain management. To increase range-of-motion, flexibility and improve strength, a variety of therapeutic exercises are used. Each patient receives an individualized regimen of exercise, training and assistance. A significant component of the Osteoporosis Program is education. Instruction about performing daily activities, posture, prevention of falls and accidents, as well as proper lifting, bending and carrying techniques are provided. The Osteoporosis Program in its entirety, is aimed at preserving bone, maximizing bone density, preventing fractures, relieving pain and restoring normal functioning.
