InformationPhysical Therapy is considered an Allied Health Profession. A person can ONLY come to Physical Therapy with a referral from a physician, dentist, osteopath, nurse practitioner, physician's assistant or podiatrist. A referral from a chiropractor is not a legal referral. You are allowed to visit any Physical Therapist (P.T.), not just the one the doctor recommended. It's your choice! Find one where you are comfortable knowing that you are being treated properly in a safe, clean, environment with P.T.s who are licensed and very knowledgeable. Many HMOs require you to have an authorization # from your primary care physician (PCP) and a prescription from your referring MD or specialist such as an orthopedist or neurologist, etc. One should inquire about several items about the P.T. facility before
beginning an Rx program: Items to inquire about from your insurance company: Remember: Your MD may recommend a P.T. to you BUT you are allowed to go to any P.T. that you choose and that your insurance company covers. Check your insurance provider manual to see if there are P.T.s that you would prefer.
The following is a list of Insurance Companies in which Corso, P.T. is a participant. Please check here for updates, as the list changes periodically. Please call if the company you use is not on the list. When your physician prescribes physical therapy for you, for any reason, you must bring or have them FAX your prescription to the Corso facility that you will use. Since not all insurance companies operate in the same way, please check with the company or your doctor to find out what must be approved or completed. Aetna
